I got this link from my good friend james. Jeep pulls out Hummer H2 This page has pics and video of a crappy H2 getting some assistance from a 22 year old Jeep Scrambler. When I first checked out the link, I was expecticing to see a yuppie H2 driver caught on some back trail. But I surely cried tears of laughter when I saw he was merely stuck by a porta-pottie! Enjoy
The updating process continues. I have learned that php is hard to learn when you don't have the time. The great thing w/ all this redesigning is I've regained a respect for flash. Macromedia has come a long way from its days of simple animations for flash. I also took some time and updated my movabletype to 3.0. It doesn't have much changes on the outside to those who read it, but it helps me greatly to rid this site of bad web advertising done via comments on my blog.
Okay, so Charley has gotten a wee bit bigger since last I wrote. In a matter of a few hours, those in charge of emergency operations have declared an evacuation of Level A, B, and C flood zones. Ah dang, our apartment is firmly nested inside the Level A flood zone, so we have to head north to my mom's house in ocala. We are leaving the area w/ about 350,000 others so the roads are going to be packed. But before that happens I have to help save my Dunedin work place from eminent doom. Our owner, Greg, has been here since 9 this morning, which is the earliest I've seen him here in the last 6 months. The IT crew is becoming carpenters because they have went to get plywood so we can board up all of our front windows. This is Omar Forrester reporting.
Shawana and I have long started the process of naming our twin boys. Christian and Caleb is what we have so far for their first names. But the big name so far this year is Charley, hurricane Charley. At present time Charley's course is heading for us and the weather people predict it'll become a category 3 hurricane after it passes over cuba into the warm waters of the gulf of mexico. Its been a good while since the Tampa Bay area has been struck by a big storm but I imagine it won't be too major that we'll have to leave.
Well today we have another visit for Shawana and the twins. Its really cool that we are having twins because it falls under a birth of special circumstances. So everytime we go they have to do an ultrasound to take measurements and check the development of the boys.
The other day we started considering getting a house instead of moving into another apartment. So last night we went out to the Westchase neighborhood in Tampa because we saw a couple of homes on the internet that were reasonable and said they were in that area. Well we never found those, all we saw were mad expensive homes. They are beautiful and all, plus it was nice to see how the other half live, but I think we only saw one home that could have been priced in our range. But that was only searching on our own, so I'm sure a real estate agent can really set us up in something not stupidly priced. Hmm.. buy my photos so I can get a big house.
So construction week for the site is moving smoothly and my lack of sleep caught up w/ me last night. There is nothing fun like falling asleep w/ the mouse in your hand w/ photoshop staring back at you, and I'm lying about that. I'm just glad I woke up before Shawana did so she couldn't catch me looking so sad.
For the last day and a half in the office they have been playing techno/dance stuff through our fantastic overhead music system. Actually its already far superior to muzak because its based on the digital music channels from brighthouse and there is a good chance you'll hear actual songs. Anyway, so I've been enjoying it as far as working music goes because i still have no operational soundcard on my machine. But alas, someone else got tired of it and now the crap is back. I know its hard to please everybody in the office, but I was happy and helped contain my "postal devianct" nature. I was calmer, until the classic rock station got put on. We had what I would call light contemparary before, so its getting better. Now don't go harping on me about classic rock. I do enjoy rock of all kinds, but its just not on my request sheet for "working" music. For some reason I love the repetitive stuff, because I rarely have to stay on the phone or work in excel. Of course wasn't the drum & bass or the ambient stuff I would more enjoy, it was just different.
Something absurd to think about. Why do politicians think I care? I have gotten another email from "John Kerry" Is he our hope for this country? I don't know, but I'll be glad when some political party gets wise and pays me to make their propaganda material. I'll show you the importance of small businesses in America. I'm Omar Forrester and I'm trying to survive in America!
It is now construction week. I greet the month of August with great disgust. I'm on the move to updating my site, yet again for all the long time browsers. Its sad when 5 months have passed since my "re-opening" should have happened. But alot has happened and thogh, I would find it very easy to blame it on the great joy of my twins coming soon. It is also my twins that has forced me to make something happen. All hail inspiration, because it brings change. Stay tuned, stay cool!
